Founded in 2000, the IPAK Institute for Symbolic Analysis and Development of Information Technologies is dedicated to advancing the fields of IT development and application, as well as promoting science, invention, and innovation. Our team also focuses on educational methods that support creativity, creative communities, and voluntarism, as well as regional development, social innovation, and humanitarian efforts. We are committed to creating services that benefit people with disabilities and improving access to technology for all.

Vision

At the IPAK Institute, our vision is to drive social and economic development at the local, regional, and global levels by leveraging technology in smart ways, fostering creativity, and promoting social innovation . We strive to be a key player in the global community, working towards positive change and impactful solutions that address the world's most pressing challenges.

Innovations

The IPAK Institute has been at the forefront of innovation in online learning, having developed several groundbreaking programs and initiatives.

  • For instance, in the MINERVA project “Distance Learning in Science and Engineering Using Online Case Studies", we applied case study methods that are typically used in economics to science and engineering education.
  • We also created a digital twin for a wastewater treatment plant, which at the time was a novel approach to education.
  • Additionally, our eSwimming project was among the first to use YouTube to present video records for educational purposes.
  • Furthermore, IPAK has developed an "Out of Forty" approach that supports development in regions outside the 40 megaregions that produce the most wealth in the world. This program aims to empower underserved communities and promote sustainable development by leveraging technology and innovation.
At IPAK, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of education and driving positive change in the world.

Activities

  • IPAK is educating (courses, workshops) publishing (books and other publications) and is researching (active research unit).
  • Till now IPAK participated in several European and national projects in the framework of following programmes: Eureka, PHARE, Minerva, LifeLong Learning Programme, Central Europe , Cross Border Collaboration Slovenija Hrvaška, IPA Bosna in Hercegovina, FP7, Erasmus+.
  • IPAK institute has regular contacts with researchers abroad, Slovenian companies and institutions. The partners of IPAK are coming from EU, Southeastern Europe, and US.
